For almost 3 years since the first Rural Impact Sourcing (RIS) workshop was held in Daet, Camarines Norte, Bicol last May of 2014, OnlineJobsUniversity.com has been the main workshop facilitator of the program, led by Coach Genesis Reonico, who is the founder of OnlineJobsUniversity.com and an RIS program ambassador of the newly formed Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
In line with this advocacy of promoting online jobs all over the country, we are honored to have industry giants, OnlineJobs.ph and Payoneer, joining and supporting us in our mission of helping Filipinos all over the Philippines in finding work online and have thriving digital careers through the various talks, workshops and activities we organize and are part of.
The official start of the collaboration happened last November 24, 2016, where the official RIS Team of the Department of ICT went to Kabankalan, Negros Occidental to conduct a one whole day workshop that gives the participants a deeper understanding as to what the online jobs industry is all about and how they can get started. The event was attended by no less than 200 participants from Kabankalan and nearby cities and municipalities.
The day started with the introductory remarks coming from the LGU representatives, the ICT council of the region and a short message from the City Mayor, Isidro P. Zayco. It was then followed by the presentation of the DigitalPH initiative of the e-innovation team of the DICT by Mr. Merlin Fabricante, where Rural Impact Sourcing Workshop is one of its components.

The workshop proper followed as Coach Genesis started the session by giving the participants an overview on what is possible for a person with a digital career and how it can help them, their family and their city in the process.
Coach Genesis also invited Mr. Leif Brian Margallo, the CEO of Virtual Workforce Professionals (VWP), a home-grown BPO company that currently has a combined offline and online workforce of around 700+ people in 6 branches nationwide, to provide inspiration and motivation to the attendees.
The rest of the afternoon offered a full workshop where Coach Genesis led the participants through the process on how to get started. He discussed about the realities and nature of the work, the required competencies, what skills can be offered and jobs available and so many more.
Coach Gen also walked through the participants on how to use OnlineJobs.ph, an online jobs platform exclusive to Filipinos who want to find a sustainable, home-based, online jobs. He shared his story on how he got started and how he got one of his first clients through the said platform. Being given the "Brand Ambassador" role of OnlineJobs.ph by its Founder, John Jonas, you can expect to hear more from Coach Gen on how to find online jobs and work with international clients through this platform.
Of course, working online won’t make sense if we do not have an efficient way of receiving payments for our services. This is where Payoneer comes in. Payoneer is a financial services business that provides online money transfer and e-commerce payment services. Through the services Payoneer offer to online workers and freelancers here in the Philippines, Filipinos will now be able to receive their hard-earned money from clients all over the world with the highest exchange rate compared to its competitors in the market.
Payoneer truly believes in the capacity of Filipinos to succeed and thrive in the online outsourcing industry that they are giving a $25 bonus to those who will use their service and reach their first $100 credits on their account. They've also given Payoneer items like, premium pens, notebooks, and calculators. The day ended with the participants asking various questions based on the topics discussed. If you don't have a Payoneer account yet and would like to receive the $25 bonus, create a Payoneer account through this link: www.CoachGen.com/pay
